Cantorelli is a group of eight a capella singers based in the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire who perform choral music from a large repertoire extending over 500 years including works from 15th century England and European music of the Renaissance to world music and the present day.
The most recent concert was performed in Heptonstall Parish Church on Sunday 18th October 2009. The impressive Victorian church was built to replace the much earlier church which stands now as a ruin in the churchyard parts of which date from the thirteenth century. The church is much used as a venue for concerts and an annual spring music festivals. Cantorelli previously performed the same programme in St Ann’s Church, Manchester on Tuesday 8th September as part of the 2009 Concert Season of the St Ann’s Music Society. St Ann’s Church at the very centre of the City of Manchester was consecrated in 1712. The St Ann’s Music Society has been presenting series of concerts here since 1980.
